Savas C Hirides, speaker at the 14th World Congress of Laparo -Endoscopic Surgery EAES in Paris. His speech was entitled "Robotic Single Site Surgery" and attracted the interest of the audience because this year's meeting was focusing on Single Site Procedures. Robotics appear to be the safest way to perform operations through a single incision minimizing postoperative discomfort and maximizing the aesthetic result, often without any obvious surgical scar. Dr Hirides recently performed a robotic cholecystectomy through a single incision to a 34-year old patient with gallbladder polyps. Patient was discharged a few hours after the operation and was very satisfied by the operative team and the final result of his operation |
